I had a long time desire to do more with my illustrations, graphics and paintings. Bring them to life, making them tell stories. After exploring and learning Flash animation which is mainly developed for interactive web applications and has limited animation capabilities, I quickly moved to dedicated animation software.
But animation is not only about software. After all, animation didn't start with software. It was and still is a laborious craft. Software only helps to make the process a bit faster, at least if you know what you are doing!
Besides having to learn how to use the software, learning animation from masters in the craft is essential. "The Animator's Survival Kit" by Richard Williams helped me with my first steps into animation and taught me things I had never been aware of.
Maybe I should have studied animation instead of graphic design. However, studying illustration during the same time has been a good starting point.
I will regularly update my animation pages so look at my humble beginnings and follow where they lead me.
